This was a treat. Leah was one of my photography students back in my teaching days. We crossed paths years later at church, where she would normally be seen pushing a double stroller with three beautiful (and very young!) children. As it turned out, she and her husband were foster parents and were adopting two sweet kids. I'm a HUGE fan of foster parents, and told her I would love to photograph their family as soon as the adoption was complete. My fall booked up too fast, so we postponed until the spring, and we had a beautiful day to capture all their sweet, beautiful faces, along with their miracle baby bump! And when you have three kids under the age of four, it can be a little hard to get everyone looking in the same direction and smiling, so we just rolled with it and had fun.
This was my last fall photo shoot of the season, and I couldn't believe the beautiful weather we had in mid-November! Truly a gift. And so was this location... totally worth the drive out there. As far as kids are concerned, it's basically the world's biggest sandbox, and they could have run up and down these hills until they collapsed. This family is also a gift. Shannon is the world's best hair stylist, and is also my good friend. It was a delight spending a beautiful evening with them.
